There is this new activity I do together with JS…..READING. I have started this during the school holiday. On top of her school work, we make it a habit to read a page a day, so far we have stick on to this routine. Not story telling, but getting JS to read. I’ve tried when she was 2 1/2 yrs old. But at that time she was not ready, so the reading got abadone. Now that she has shown sign of readiness and I’m starting her off again. So far the progress is good. We are using Ladybird Peter & Jane. Mum hand me down the whole set (Mum started teaching me reading that when I was age 5). I’m proud and glad of her progress.
I’m thinking of starting her with Chinese words as well. Have to think of a way. Maybe will have to do my own flash cards. As chinese character is different from English and Malay. There is no phonic and suku kata. It’s plain recognizing and memorizing the character and stroke. Thinking of getting the GD Chinese reading kits, but it’s so expensive. There are so many chinese characters and it’s not easy to learn. Really have to start now.

Wanted to write more about what I’ve learn in my course in my blog. Unfortunately, I haven’t fully comprehend what I’ve learn, so not able to write, afraid of wrong information. Need to get back to do my assignment. Ahhh..sitting in front of the pc is so hard to concentrate. It’s so natural for me to switch to blog surf and typing in my own blog….
