When I first met my hubby, his bachelor home is chick and classy. It’s not big, but cosily set up. It remained that way till we got married.

Along the way, we conceived JS. We planned a nursery for her, converting the guest room into nursery.

But it didn’t go as planned. As soon as JS’s born, we moved the cot into our master bedroom and co-sleep with her. Just can’t imagine how we could manage to sleep in 2 separate rooms. So gone our nicely set up master bedroom for couple. It’s turned into a family room with a cot.
During the first 2 years with JS, we’ve collected more toys. And part of our living room is dominated by JS’s thing including a play pen.
JS’s play area.
Then came my boy. And our home become……

With very possible corners dominated by the kid’s stuffs. From the free space at the top of the shelfs in every room including the maid’s, to empty travel luggage bag, to under the bed and any storage boxes, it’s the KIDDO’s STUFFS. We no longer display photos on our book shelf, because it’s cramp with BOOKS. BOOKS for the children (ok, ok… I have added on my collection of recipes, but still most of it are the kid’s) (we still have parts of the things kept at SIL’s and MIL’s place as our current house is not a permanent one)
And sometimes the house look like this as if been swept by hurricane.
(These pictures taken before I have a maid, so some days there were even bed that is unmake)
With 2 mobile kids snacking everywhere, it’s not uncommon to find crumbs under the sofa or any corner in the house, even bits and pieces of play dough everywhere. With their sticky dirty hands, they walk around and touch everywhere. Without my maid, I guess I will go beserk running behind, tracking where they go to wipe all the stains or I will end up co-habitat with ANTS!
Training the kids to pick up their toys after they play. They have the habit of leaving the things behind and go for another. Sometimes when I’m keeping the toys, WH will volunteerily come to help me, but for JS, I will need to call and call and most time find her not moving.
Last night I asked the kids
“Who never keep toys?”
JS :”DIDI”
WH: “Jie jie”
Finally WH can talk abit and both are pointing fingers at each other.

I oso have a guest room cum playroom for my kids and containers after containers (big ones) of toys. Now, have limited buying toys for my girl as she can play the koko ones. Otherwise, where to keep?
I know what u mean about the ants. They’re everywhere, thanks to my kids’ food crumbs
