WH is 22mths today. 2 more months before turning 2.

Weight: still remain the same between 9.7kg – 9.8kg

Height: Haven’t measured for a while..

Dexterity :
Likes to climb up chair, table, shelfs and grills

Still a little wobbly when walking and running, like a drunken man

Can grip the pen/crayons quite perfectly to scribble on paper and the easle.

Language :
~ Picking up a lot of single words. Able to put two words to form simple sentences.
~ Can recite 1 till 6
~ Able to recognize some alphabets
~ Keen to sing, especially Twinkle Star song, but he still can’t make up the words and tune but will moves his body along with music and do the action.

Feeding and Food:
Still latching on to boobies most time of the day. Drinking Sustagen for breakfast and 4oz formula twice a day. Wean from porriadge and on full solid and is quite capable to feed himself. Prefers fried food and dislike vege.

Emotions :
Each time when we scolded JS, he would put on a cheeky face and call us in the sweetest tone…hoping to get away from the scolding. He does the same when I’m about to raise my voice at him.

He knows how to complaint to me when his sister bullies him.

Friendly little chap. He can call our neighbour “uncle dik (Sidek), all the big boy “bang” (abang) and little boy “dik” (adik) eventhough the little boys are all older than him. He calls the opposite aunty “po po” each time he sees her. In JS music class, he likes to make friend with all the boys and always take the initiative to go near them calling them “kor kor”

Relunctant to have the maid attend to him. I’m taking over the feeding and bathing and changing now. He’s looking for equal attention that I’m giving JS.

She’s Not Even 4

August 25, 2006

When JS first started school early this year, I keep reminding myself not to push her too much and not to compare her with her peers as she has just turned 3 at the beginning of the year (the youngest in her class)…Before schooling, every of her milestone has been tracked down according to months

but after a few months, seeing her progress and behaviour, I tend to forget that my little girl has yet to turn 4. I have unawarely treated her as a 4 years old. I keep thinking that by the turn of the new year, she would be 5 already, (since she herself keep saying she’s already 4 yro) and that we will be celebrating her 5th birthday this coming dec, but the truth is that she will just be 4 this coming dec not 5….

Schooling does make her matures alot especially when she mingles alot with the 5 and 6 years old kids. So far she’s on par and sometimes slightly ahead of her peers in her class, which I’m truly please…..

I see this as one advantage of early schooling. But I do not mean that we solely rely on pre-school. As a parent, we still have to play important role in their homeschooling during this early childhood days.

Durian Butter Cake

August 25, 2006

Hubby bought some Durian the other day. It didn’t taste that nice, so got left over. Don’t know what to do as I have forgotten where is my “apam balik” recipe…..so decided to make Durian Butter Cake

Ingredients

  • 250g butter
  • 225g fine castor sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 4 eggs
  • 125g durian flesh, pureed
    Sift:
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 50g plain flour

 Durian puree

Method

Preheat oven to 170 ºC. Cream butter, sugar and essence until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and add durian puree gradually.

Fold in sifted flours and mix well to blend. Pour batter into prepared tin and bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
