I decided to surf the web now because it's been 4 - 5 proven times that each time before I go on business travelling, my daughter will fall ill. It's usually fever and such which worries me because if not watched carefully temperature will rise in the morning...

Everytime my heart is cut when I leave my house with luggages while little stays home with daddy. It always make me wonder why are I working and not home caring for her full time?

Just 2 days ago I accidentally mentioned over the phone to my MIL that I will be travelling the following week while little was in my cuddle. You know what? She woke up with fever the next morning. Temeperature rose very fast and high so we sent her to doctor immediately. It's Hand-Foot-Mouth disease which we found out pretty early.

However, her temperature rose to 39 degrees at night so we decided to insert suppository to bring down the temperature.

Today all were good. On the phone with little couple of times during the day, then MIL fetched her from babysitter's. During late afternoon, MIL called to say little's temperature rose to 38.9 degrees, I almost freaked out while I was at work.

Ordered MIL to quickly insert suppository, temperature came down a while after. 30 minutes later, little pass motion, and 4 hours later the fever came back to 38.9. At that point I just got back from work, I panicked and sent her to hospital immediately.

Doctor gave her an antibiotic jab and insert suppository. Because the ulcers in her mouth became so painful, she could not eat even when she wanted to. And she can't really drink too....

The worse nightmare came when doctor mentioned if fever comes back the next day after jab, then little will have to be admitted for drip because there is hardly any food and liquid intake..

Now I have to consider cancelling my business trip as I am scheduled to be away for a week. Anything can happen during the 7 days, and as a mother, I do not know how not to be around for her...

There is just something about this that puzzled me...I think she knew I am going away, that's why she fell sick.

I could not recall over 3 different occasions, my husband was ill together with little before my departure, oh well, there must be a theory behind this.

My Alycia is also like this. The chinese sinseh who 'read her pulse' said that she is 'thai poa' (too much nutrients in her body) coz i used to feed her Scotts Emulsion, multi-vit & Vit C everyday. On top of that, I also cook them nutritious soup and food everyday. Maybe their lil' body cannot accept such 'poa' food. I also blame myself for being too clean and for giving them too much organic food. Well, our paed said their immune system (IS) is not fully developed yet and asked me not to blame myself. The IS will only be fully developed by age 4 or 5, depending on the individual child. Now, I only feed my gals their vitamins every other day and in a reduced amount. I am also trying out Manuka Honey. So far so good. I'm waiting to see if Alycia's IS will be better when I send her bk to preschool in June 07.

it's like that, once they go to school, the germs and sick bug is passing around like musical chair, it's worst if it's in air conditioned classroom.
